This isn't just another holiday show—it's a heartwarming journey through the season's greatest music and a story that captures the true magic and meaning of the Christmas season.
The cast and band are hard at work prepping for a wonderful snowy Badlands Christmas experience. Talent will include a lot of familiar Medora faces and bring in some new folks to the Badlands. This year’s featured cast will consist of: Karter Dolan from Bismarck, North Dakota, who will return to Medora for the Holidays. Karter has been a Burning Hills Singer in the Medora Musical since 2024 and sang in the Medora Gospel Brunch both years. Karter is excited to be back performing in his home state and is excited to be in Medora for a Very Merry Badlands Christmas.
Lauren Mikeal from Waco, Texas, is excited to return to the Badlands! Lauren is the Coordinator of Musical Theatre at Baylor University. She holds an MFA in Theatre (Musical Theatre) and an MM in Vocal Performance from Minnesota State University, Mankato. As a performer, Lauren has appeared in regional theatre, opera, concerts, and as a solo artist with bands across the country.
Kim Willow from Cedar Falls, Iowa, is excited to be back for a Very Merry Badlands Christmas. Kim was a Burning Hills Singer from 2012 to 2016 and performed in Medora Christmas shows from 2019 to 2022. Kim has been in several national tours around the country, but is excited to be back in the Badlands for Christmas.
Chad Willow from North Woods, Minnesota, has six past Medora Christmas productions in the books as Music Director and performer. Chad again leads the charge as Writer, Director, Music Director, and Performer, with twelve seasons of the Medora Musical as Associate Musical Director and leader of the Coal Diggers band. Chad and his wife, Kim, met in Medora and are happy to celebrate Christmas here in the Badlands.
Day-Vawn Miller from Nashville, Tennessee, is returning to a Very Merry Badlands Christmas after four summers of performing in the Medora Musical. Day-Vawn not only plays the guitar but also can jam on the banjo, mandolin, dobro, and more. We are excited to have Day-Vawn back to share his talents with us this Christmas!
Josie Tompkins from Canton, Georgia, is excited to be in the Badlands for Christmas after her debut in the Medora Musical this summer. Josie played the Fiddle for the Coal Diggers Band and is excited to share her talents this winter!
Luke Surretsky from Nutley, New Jersey, returns to the Badlands for a Very Merry Badlands Christmas. Luke first came to the Badlands to perform in the 2024 Fall show, Ring of Fire. Luke can’t wait to be back in the Badlands and perform in the Old Town Hall Theater once again.
Brian Crowder is thrilled to be a part of A Very Merry Badlands Christmas. Born and raised in Waco, TX, he currently works at Baylor University Theatre as the Audio/Video Supervisor. Still, he has enjoyed working as a drummer, singer, mix engineer, and sound designer for the past ten years. This will be Brian’s first time in the Badlands, and he is excited for this opportunity!
