Outdoor adventure awaits you at this recreation area.  Nature and hiking trails, along with RV sites, tenting, showers, handicapped accessible, boat launch, courtesy docks and swimming area. This riverfront area will make a nice place to view the night sky.

This museum is in St. Matthews Episcopal Church, built in 1902 of sandstone quarried from north of Linton.  There are four buildings featuring a collection of saddles, tack, items from a one room schoolhouse, dress worn in 1865 at President Lincoln’s Inaugural and children’s toys and furniture. The Temvik Post Office, a replica of the Temvik Methodist Church and assorted items representing the community’s heritage.

Experience the historic Nokota horses on North Dakota native prairies.  This natural environment shows the interactions and communications of bands of horses.  Decedents of the Lakota herd of the 19th century and of Sitting Bull’s herd can be viewed by scheduling a pasture tour by appointment only.

Check out the local apiary store, a Touch of Honey, where they produce a line of products using their own locally produced honey.  Choose from honey bears, creamed honey and more to swirl in your teas, coffees and drinks, to skin care, body lotions and lip balms.

Welk Homestead State Historic Site, located northwest of Strasburg, interprets agriculture in the early 20th century, German Russian culture and architecture, and the career of bandleader Lawrence Welk, who grew up on the farm.

Doyle Memorial Park provides fun for the whole family. We have great camping with RV power, or tenting, showers, boat ramp and boat dock. We also have a children's playground with swings and slides. Doyle Memorial Park is located on Green Lake where there is great walleye, northern and perch fishing. The park has a fish cleaning station, dumpsters and picnic shelters.

Kulm Country Club is an elite 9-hole golf course located in the rolling hills just south of Kulm. The course is over 3,000 yards and was designed by world renowned golf course architects Stephen Kay and Doug Smith. It is one of North Dakota's hidden treasures and should definitely be experienced by anyone who loves the game of golf.

This site features several monuments from 1909 and 1941 for the US Soldiers and the Native Americans who died during the early September 1863 attack.

Trails lead to the Country Club golf course and the County Museum with its two story building with static displays, one-room school house, country church and more to see and do. There are modern comforts at the camping venue along with outdoor activity areas and playground equipment. Cabins and an auditorium building are available for rent.

This deactivated Minuteman missile similar to the silos on the Northern Plains during the Cold War. The Red Wing Boat was used to transport supplies and passengers on the James River in the early 1900s. Be sure to visit the interpretive panels and discover the history of these pastimes.

It is the only National Grassland in the tallgrass prairie region of the United States.  The grassland provides habitat for greater prairie chickens in North Dakota as well as several other sensitive species such as the Dakota skipper and Regal Fritillary.  It also contains one of largest populations of the western prairie fringed orchid.

Chahinkapa Zoo is home to over 200 animals representing 70 species and 6 continents. Animals include: an orangutan, white rhinos, grizzly bears, zebras, bison, kangaroos, gibbons, cheetahs, honey badgers, an alligator, and much more.

The Red Door Art Gallery is committed to increase knowledge of and to encourage the appreciation of art in all forms. They display regional and local visual artworks, objects of artifacts. Be sure to make a quick stop in the gift store.

Take part in a scavenger hunt and be amazed at the collections housed in the museum.  From Rosemead collections, along with Native American artifacts, military displays and more than 15 John Roger’s American Life sculptures. The bronze statues are housed in the New York Museum of Art.
