Emmons County Museum

This museum is in St. Matthews Episcopal Church, built in 1902 of sandstone quarried from north of Linton.  There are four buildings featuring a collection of saddles, tack, items from a one room schoolhouse, dress worn in 1865 at President Lincoln’s Inaugural and children’s toys and furniture. The Temvik Post Office, a replica of the Temvik Methodist Church and assorted items representing the community’s heritage.

Minuteman Missile and Red Wing Boat

This deactivated Minuteman missile similar to the silos on the Northern Plains during the Cold War. The Red Wing Boat was used to transport supplies and passengers on the James River in the early 1900s. Be sure to visit the interpretive panels and discover the history of these pastimes.
