North Dakota's Gateway to Science

Curiosity meets discovery at North Dakota's Gateway to Science! Located at 1600 Canary Ave in Bismarck, this interactive science center invites explorers of all ages to ignite their imagination and delve into the wonders of energy, water, and more. The gallery features major North Dakota industries and resources—energy, agriculture, health care, transportation, water, weather and engineering. From hands-on exhibits that spark creativity to engaging workshops that inspire future innovators, every corner of Gateway to Science is designed to educate and entertain-science has never been this thrilling!

The second floor of the science center features a 7,800-square-foot Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Innovation Space providing an environment that helps build 21st century skills, such as collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, which are important in the classroom, the workplace, and the public sphere. This space is all about education, cooperation, and community development and features movable tables, flexible seating, and a mix of high-tech and low-tech tools and resources. This Innovation Space is also available to rent, with beautiful views overlooking the Missouri River, perfect for hosting corporate events, luncheons, meetings and even weddings.

With GTS on the Go, Gateway to Science delivers STEM activities that foster curiosity and cultivate essential 21st Century skills throughout the state. Gateway to Science STEM Educators traveled 25,000 miles last year, bringing hands-on learning experiences to K-12 students in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Gateway to Science is a member of the Association of Science & Technology Centers (ASTC) and the Association of Children's Museums (ACM).
