When I heard my meeting would be in Jamestown, I wasn't thrilled to say the least. What's in Jamestown?? Well, two great places, I found out. Babb's Coffee House is a great place to hang out, catch up with friends, or just get that jolt for the road. The sandwich was tasty, the coffee far better than average, and the ambiance was inspiring. Great Skiing at Frost Fire (1/31/2008)

My family and I enjoyed a crisp North Dakota weekend near Langdon and Walhalla, North Dakota. Our adventures began at the Frost Fire Ski Resort nestled in the Pembina Gorge near Walhalla. The weather was cold but the fire, food and company was extremely warm in the wonderfully decorated lodge. Who can ask for more than a great view, leather couches, a crackling fire and home made soup? The snow conditions were great, the rental skis were new this year and Julie, one of the instructors, had some great tips for my 12-year-old daughter who is a "boarder" not a...

Winter Fun Day at Huff Hills (1/30/2008)

Beautiful sunshine and not a breath of wind... it didn't matter what the temperature was that day at Huff Hills Ski Area south of Mandan!! It may have been cold outside but the skiers and snowboarders were enjoying perfect snow conditions and the chalet was warm and inviting. It also offered a great place for families to watch their skiers and snowboarders coming down the runs. What a great destination to really get out and celebrate the season that seems so long... I just have to remember that even if we don't have snow in town - Huff Hills is waiting...
